Fuerteventura airport, also known as El Matorral, is situated just on the outskirts of the capital Puerto del Rosario and is easily accessible from the majority of UK airports with a flight time of around 4 hours. Once here and if your not traveling via your tour operators transfer service the resort is easily reached via taxi or public transport, along with numerous car hire options found within the arrivals lounge. Thankfully the days of the 6 hour camel ride are long gone.

by car

Approx 40 minutes.

1. Head north on Aeropuerto  
     After approx 300 m     
2. Keep right at the fork  
     After approx 120 m     
3. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the FV-2 ramp to Pto. del Rosario/​Corralejo  
     After approx 500 m     
4. Merge onto FV-2  
     After approx 3.1 km     
5. Merge onto FV-3 via the ramp to Circunvalación/​FV-20/​Antigua/​FV-10/​LA Oliva/​FV-1/​Corralejo 
     After approx 7.7 km     
6. Continue onto Ctra. Corralejo Por la Costa/​Fv-1 Continue to follow Fv-1 and go over 7 roundabouts 
     After approx 25.4 km     
7. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Av. Fuerte-Ventura  
     After approx 800 m     
8. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Corralejo  
     After approx 190 m     
9. Continue onto Calle Gran Canaria  
     After approx 300 m

​by taxi

​Approx 40 minutes.

The Taxi rank is situated directly outside Arrivals and transfers from the airport to Corralejo are fairly quick and convenient and although queues can form at peak times there are plenty of Taxis arriving every few minutes so waiting time is not usually that long. Taxis on the island are strictly regulated and have meters so you will know how much they cost so no nasty surprises. During the work day which is between the hours of 06.00 - 20.00 you can expect to pay around €45.00 each way and between 20.00 - 06.00 including Sundays and Festival Days the fare rises to €49.00 each way.

by bus

​The island has a reliable bus service which you can catch directly from outside Arrivals however this is not a direct service to Corralejo and you will need to change at the main depot in Puerto del Rosario. From there take route number 6 as follows,

Puerto del Rosario to Corralejo
 
Monday to Saturday
07.00 - 14.30 & 15.30 - 20.00 (every half hour)
20.00 - 2300 (on the hour)
Sundays & Holidays
07.00 - 14.00 & 16.00 - 21.00 (on the hour)

Corralejo to Puerto del Rosario

Monday to Saturday
07.00 - 14.30 & 15.30 - 20.00 (every half hour)
20.00 - 24.00 (on the hour)
Sundays & Holidays
07.00 - 14.00 & 16.00 - 21.00 (on the hour)
 
If you are planning to use the Bus service during your stay then it may be advisable to get The Bono BtF (Discount Bus Card) which is a rechargeable plastic card that can be purchased directly from the driver and gives you a % off your journey. The card initially costs 1€ and then can be charged with any amount from €15.00 to €50.00 in increments of €5.00.
