corralejo townThe town of Corralejo is situated on the north of the island and is the most popular holiday destination on the beautiful sun drenched island of Fuerteventura. A mix of modern and traditional it truly has something to suit all ages and will keep you entertained from dawn til dusk. Don't fancy an early night? if you have the energy after those long days soaking up the Canarian sunshine you can continue on til the early hours.
If you're eating out then you will be truly spoilt for choice, Corralejo satisfies all taste buds. The main street caters for anything from Pizza to Paella but If you fancy something a bit more special then head down to the old town where there are many traditional Canarian bars where you can try tapas along with a nice cold beer or glass of wine. There are also numerous restaurants centered around the harbour specialising in fresh fish which is caught on the day in the waters around Corralejo, quality food delivered with stunning views at no additional charge and an atmosphere to match. Often you will find that these smaller, traditional bars are very competitive on price so get in there rub shoulders with the locals and practice your Spanish - you may be pleasantly surprised.
The new town area of Corralejo has everything you would expect, there is a tremendous amount of shops selling anything and everything, small friendly bars with local entertainment, karaoke bars for the X-Factor hopefuls among us and then the Atlantic Centre where you can party the night away. Don't worry though if late nights are not your cup of tea, noise is kept to a minimum (this definitely not Magaluf or Kavos) or you can simply stroll along the waterfront taking in the views and perhaps stopping for the odd cocktail (or two!). The water provides a wealth of activities such as jet-skiing, deep sea fishing, catamaran trips, glass bottom boats and snorkelling adventures. A trip over to Lobos Island is a must, get lost on your own private stretch of golden sandy beach and snorkel in the crystal clear waters but be careful, beachwear is sometimes optional! If all that isn't enough there is a ferry across the water to Lanzarote - but why would you want to leave Corralejo and Fuerteventura, even if its only for a day? |
